An insight into the future of struggling Chelsea star Raheem Sterling has been provided on Sunday.

This, of course, comes as speculation continues to link the England international with a surprise early departure from Stamford Bridge.

Wide-man Sterling took his talents to Chelsea last summer, amid the early endeavours of the powers that be at the club to usher in a new era and fruitful era in west London.

On the back of a hugely successful spell with Premier League rivals Manchester City, however, the 28-year-old’s time in the colours of the Pensioners has since proven altogether less productive.

Though not a disaster, especially when compared to the exploits of some of his teammates, Sterling’s haul of four goals across 19 league appearances is some way short of what Todd Boehly and co. would have been hoping for upon spending big on his signature.

Such struggles, in turn, have culminated in whispers in the media that, in the case of a reasonable offer arriving in the summer, Sterling could be moved on after just one season in England’s capital.

If the latest update on Sterling’s future to have come to the fore on Sunday is anything to go by, however, then any such move, it would appear, is firmly out of the question.

As per a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the once-prolific winger has no intention of calling it quits at Stamford Bridge any time soon:

‘Raheem Sterling wants to stay at Chelsea, the plan is very clear for the summer – committed to the project, nothing has changed despite rumours.’
