It took Auba’s tally to 8 goals in 11 games since his January move to the Nou Camp on a free from Arsenal, after being frozen out of the Gunners side in November. With his pair of strikes against Los Blancos, Aubameyang also set a new record too, becoming the first player in this century to score in five consecutive games against Real Madrid, something even Lionel Messi in his peak could not achieve.
