Liverpool have been handed a boost in their hopes of reaching the Champions League final this season as it has emerged that Villareal star forward Gerard Moreno has suffered a ‘severe’ hamstring strain in their 2-1 win over Getafe in La Liga.
Moreno was forced off just after half time in the encounter, and there were concerns over the severity of the injury. Fears which have now been realised, as he seems set to be sidelined for much of the remainder of Unai Emery’s sides’ campaign.

Liverpool’s quadruple hopes still on
Liverpool’s attempt to do the unprecedented, and register a quadruple across domestic and European fronts, remains very much on.
Coming through a tricky semi-final against Manchester City courtesy of a 3-2 scoreline that in truth flattered the Cityzens, they now face one more Wembley outing against Chelsea next month in the final.
And they could meet the Manchester club in the Champions League final too, with both sides in the semi-finals against Spanish opposition. Victories for both would see them meet yet again in Paris for the final, as both sides dispute the title of best club in Europe.
