Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi has, on Thursday, secured yet another piece of silverware courtesy of UEFA.
The name of Argentine icon Messi, of course, took its place front and centre in the headlines once more earlier this week.
This came as PSG marked their return to action on the continent, in a Champions League showdown with Israeli outfit Maccabi Haifa.
The Ligue 1 champions showcased absolutely no mercy at the Parc des Princes, racking up seven goals to book their spot in the knockout rounds of European football’s premiere club competition.
And the aforementioned Messi, altogether unsurprisingly, played a starring role across the 90 minutes.
After directly contributing to all three of PSG’s goals at the weekend, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner followed up with a further two goals and two assists at the expense of Maccabi.
Everything about this is filthy! 🥵

As per an official statement across UEFA’s social media platforms, the 35-year-old has beaten out the competition to take home the award for Champions League Goal of the Week.
Pipping the likes of Kai Havertz and Matteo Guendouzi to the post, recognition of Messi’s strike comes after the legendary attacker picked out the far corner courtesy of a sumptuous outside-of-the-boot effort with his trusty left foot:
