An update on the wellbeing of Manchester City star Erling Haaland has come to the fore late on Thursday evening.

The name of hitman Haaland, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the blue half of Manchester across the day to date.

This comes after the Norwegian set pulses racing across the Citizens’ fanbase, after sitting out training ahead of the club’s weekend showdown with Liverpool.

Haaland previously pulled out of international duty with Norway last week, but it had been hoped that he would have managed a return to full fitness by now.

His status for Saturday’s Etihad clash, in turn, has since been thrown into doubt.

And now, late on Thursday, a fresh update on the situation has been forthcoming online.

‘Erling Haaland is a serious doubt for Manchester City’s showdown with Liverpool at the Etihad on Saturday as he struggles to overcome a groin problem.’

Amid his side’s ongoing pursuit of Premier League table-toppers Arsenal, Pep Guardiola will therefore likely be left with a last-minute decision on whether or not to risk his star goalscorer against Liverpool.
