No fewer than three members of the French national team squad have come in for racially-motivated abuse late on Sunday evening.
Such disgusting behaviour, of course, comes on the back of the respective roles played by the trio in Les Bleus’ latest outing.
After navigating their way beyond Morocco in the competition’s semi-finals, France were pitted against the might of Argentina earlier today, amid the nation’s bid to make it back-to-back World Cup titles.
When all was said and done, however, it was not meant to be for Didier Deschamps and co.
Instead, it was Argentina who clinched glory on football’s grandest stage, keeping their cool to dispatch a quartet of spot-kicks en route to a penalty shootout triumph.

And now, as alluded to above, some of those left angered by France’s eventual defeat on Sunday have responded, in the most embarrassing manner imaginable.
After Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka were subjected to widespread abuse owing to their spot-kick failures in the final of the European Championships last year, Tchouameni and Coman have tonight been targeted for the same, with Kolo Muani’s telling miss late in extra-time meaning he has not been spared, either.
Another dark day in the recent history of our beautiful game…
Kingsley Coman, Aurélian Tchouaméni and Randal Kolo Muani are all now being hit with racist abuse in their social media comments.
Fuck sake people.
I thought we were past this😐
