Having thrown away points in both of their last two outings, can Switzerland get back to winning ways in Sion?
On Saturday, despite leading not once but twice in Pristina, the Rossocrociati were held to a 2-2 draw by Kosovo, conceding a 94th minute equaliser.
That actually made it back-to-back 2-2 draws for Murat Yakın’s team, following a complete collapse against Romania in June, in which the Swiss conceded twice in stoppage time, having been two up at Swissporarena.
Despite all of this, Switzerland do remain top of Group I, two points clear of Romania and three better off than Israel.
Given that they still have to visit Tel Aviv next month and then București on the final matchday, the group leaders will be desperate not to slip-up here.
This does seem unlikely, given that Andorra are rock bottom of the table, yet to pick up a victory.
The Tricolours previously left Kosovo with a 1-1 draw in March, courtesy of Albert Rosas’ equaliser at Fadil Vokrri Stadium.
Nevertheless, Andorra have now won just four of their last 30 competitive outings, these victories coming over Liechtenstein and San Marino.
Switzerland won their last outing at Stade Tourbillon in 2019, swatting aside Gibraltar 4-0, with a similar scoreline expected here too.
