The return of Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace, so can he steer his boyhood club to safety?
In May 2021, Hodgson supposedly retired from management, after four years in charge of Palace, before taking over at Watford last season and now returning to South London this year too.
He takes over a team who are still winless in 2023, having accumulated just five points from 12 games.
In Patrick Vieira’s last match at the helm, the Eagles were beaten 1-0 by fierce rivals Brighton.
Then, with Paddy McCarthy at the helm, they were smashed 4-1 by Arsenal a fortnight ago, a fourth successive defeat.
Despite all of this, Palace were 12th when they last won, beating Bournemouth on New Years’ Eve, and are remarkably still 12th.
Leicester City meantime return from the international break in 17th, just one point and one place clear of danger.
The Foxes ended their own four match losing streak by holding Brentford to a 1-1 draw last time out, with Harvey Barnes equalising in West London.
Nevertheless, since the World Cup, Brendan Rodgers’ side have won just two of 12 league fixtures, so are very much embroiled in the relegation dog fight.
The good news for Leicester is that they’re unbeaten in seven meetings with Palace, including a very dull scoreless draw at the King Power in October.

19 year old Joe Whitworth had been in goal for Palace’s last two games, but regular number one Vicente Guaita is expected to be fit for this one.
Albert Sambi Lokonga could return to midfield, having been ineligible to face parent club Arsenal.
In attack, Wilfried Zaha hasn’t scored since 6 November, but has previously netted eight times against Leicester, the joint-most vs any opponent in his career, alongside Brighton.
Cheick Doucouré will be suspended for Palace’s next two games, against Leeds and Southampton, if booked.

Goalkeeper Danny Ward was dropped for the draw with Brentford, with Daniel Iversen coming in, before starting both of Wales’ Euro qualifiers this week.
It’ll be interesting to see if Ward is brought back in here, or if Brendan Rodgers sticks with Iversen.
With Jonny Evans, Victor Kristiansen, James Justin, Çağlar Söyüncü and Ryan Bertrand all sidelined, they’re very short of defensive options.
James Maddison should be full of confidence, having featured in a first England game since November 2019 last Sunday.
However, Harvey Barnes remains Leicester’s main man for goals, while all of Patson Daka, Kelechi Ịheanachọ and Jamie Vardy continue to misfire.
