It’s the start of a new era at Tottenham Hotspur, so what will this new campaign produce in N17?
Last season was shambolic for Spurs, sacking Antonio Conte in March and then Cristian Stellini in April, eventually finishing eighth, thereby failing to qualify for Europe for the first time since 2009/10.
Tottenham required a refresh, so they’ve turned Ange Postecoglou, who will become the first Aussie to ever manage in England’s top-flight.

Postecoglou’s attacking, free-flowing style will be refreshing for Spurs fans who’ve grown weary of the defensive, pragmatic football utilised by José Mourinho, briefly Nuno EspÃrito Santo and then Conte.
Results though will of course dictate whether or not his tenure is a success, with Spurs’ aims this season to get back into Europe and, finally, end their trophy draught that infamously stretches back to 2008.
Brentford meantime actually finished just one point and one place below Spurs last season, with the Bees recording their highest top-flight finish for 85 years.
Thomas Frank’s team emphatically avoided second-season syndrome, ending the campaign with five wins out of six, including beating Chelsea, Manchester City and Spurs, prevailing 3-1 in North London back in May.
Both times Tottenham have visited the Community Stadium, it’s ended all square and, given that Brentford lost just twice at home all season last time round, this’ll remain a tough place to go.

Centre-back Nathan Collins could also make his first appearance in red and white, having arrived from Wolves for £22 million.
Thomas Frank often switches to a back five against elite opposition so, if he deploys a 4-3-3 here, that’s an indication that he believes Spurs are there for the taking.
