Chelsea have been handed a major boost on the injury front ahead of their Carabao Cup final clash with Liverpool on Sunday.
This comes as Mason Mount is thought to be ready to return from his niggle in time for the trip to Wembley.
The English forward was forced off with an ankle injury in the first half of the Blues’ Club world Cup win over Brazilian side Palmeiras, and could not be ready for Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace either.
However, as per Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com, while Mount will miss the Champions League clash with Lille in midweek, he will be fit and firing come the all-important Carabao Cup final.
Expect Mason Mount to make the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool. He’s down to train with the team today but Lille should come too soon. #CFC #UCL https://t.co/Z5nPwNQo5V

Tuchel, however, has other problems.

What to do with Romelu?
The Belgian had just 7 touches against Crystal Palace, the fewest touches in a Premier League match since 2003/04, when data began being recorded, and 5 Premier League goals in 17 games, including 2 in his last 14, is not a good enough to justify his price tag.
Romelu Lukaku broke the record for the fewest touches in a single Premier League game (7) for a player who has played the full 90 minutes since this data became available in 2003/04 😳

Tuchel will be hoping that Mount’s return to the side will help bring out more from the Belgian striker, but it is looking like bridges may already have been burned.
