Spain have, on Thursday, become the latest nation dealt a blow on the personnel front ahead of the fast-approaching World Cup.
The subject of injury woes, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines across world football ahead of the Qatar showpiece kicking into gear this weekend.
This comes as high-profile names continue to fall by the wayside, owing to fitness problems suffered amid the bloated nature of the fixture schedule.
To this point, the likes of N’Golo Kante, Paul Pogba, Diogo Jota, Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Christopher Nkunku have all been ruled out of the World Cup, as a result of injury.

And now, as alluded to above, such stars have been joined by a member of Luis Enrique’s Spain ranks.
The player in question? Jose Gaya.
In turn, though an initial MRI pointed towards a likely spell of seven to ten days out of action, Luis Enrique has been left with a decision to make regarding the possibility of calling up another defender in Gaya’s place.
