Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has, late on Saturday, provided an insight into the reasoning behind Ben White’s premature departure from the club’s warmup routine before facing Leeds United.
For those who may have missed it, defender White sparked concern across the Gunners fanbase earlier today.
This came as the Premier League table-toppers prepared to play host to the aforementioned Leeds in north London.
With Takehiro Tomiyasu already on the sidelines, White, mid-warm-up, left the field of play, giving rise to immediate fears surrounding a potential injury.
The former Brighton & Hove Albion standout nevertheless went on to see out the 90 minutes on Saturday, even chipping in with a goal en route to a dominant 4-1 Arsenal triumph.

Speaking post-match, Mikel Arteta, in turn, was draw on the reasoning behind White’s prior exit.
“He had some issues as well in the last few days but he’s a big fighter and he wanted to be here,” Arteta began. “With the injury of Tomi we are short in that position and he scored a goal as well, which is good news for him and he was very good again.”
